Wacoal Launches the Wacoal Pink Ribbon Campaign – 9 Oct 2003
Wacoal Malaysia launched the Wacoal Pink Ribbon Campaign at the National Cancer Society’s Resource and Wellness Centre in Kuala Lumpur. The Campaign will run from October to December 2003. This campaign is part of a worldwide programme initiated by Wacoal Corp, Japan as part of their contribution to society, specifically the women. YB Dato’ Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil, Minister of Women and Family Development officiated at the launch. Dayang Nur Camelia, the Wacoal spokesperson was also on hand to lend support to the campaign. A symposium on breast cancer stirred great interest in the audience. The panel consisted of Dr Harjit Kaur, Consultant Surgeon from the Putrajaya Breast Clinic, Dr Evelyn Ho, Consultant Radiologist & Breast Cancer Awareness Pogramme Coordinator of the College of Radiology, Ms Ranjit Kaur, President of Reach to Recovery International Breast Cancer Support Network and Camelia, the Wacoal spokesperson.
Collaborating with the National Cancer Society of Malaysia, Wacoal will be conducting seminars at key Department stores in the major cities in Malaysia to create awareness for breast cancer as well as to raise awareness of the importance of getting the “right fit” for bras. Pink Ribbon merchandise will be on sale and the profits will go to the National Cancer Society of Malaysia. Donation boxes will also be placed at all Wacoal counters. | Launch Photos | |
