The
New College of Radiology logo
Rationale of the logo design
The
abbreviation of the 'College of Radiology' is given
typographic treatment to create a simple illustrative
logotype ligature. Part of the letter 'R' is intentionally
in reverse white to connote the see through effect of an
'X'-ray. This represents the part of the human body which is
focused upon during the procedure.
The
illustration also relays a clear message of what the
'College of Radiology' as well as what its objectives are
associated with. Instead of a simple or direct 'O', that
letter (in the logo) is substituted for a black circle (the
background upon which part of the letter 'R' sits) in order
to create a unique and instantly recognisable visual
identity of the institute.

The MRS Logo
Dato’ Dr Joginder Singh’s input was vital to the
birth of the MRS logo. After 25 years, the logo is now
our “heirloom” |
This
logo is intentionally simple in order to enable immediate
association. The corporate feel is intentionally retained to
suggest reliability, trustworthiness which is important for
the institute. The same fonts are intentionally used for
visual synergy and legibility especially when the entire
logo is reduced substantially in size.
The
text remains flush left with the left and right margin
measuring X cm. The top margin measures approximately X cm.
The font which best complements this logo as well as
letterhead design is Arial or Helvetica, size 11 with a
(minimal leading) of 16pt. For optimum visual purposes,
another alternative smaller font size would be 10 points
with a leading of 14 points.
