The Asian Oceanian Congress of Radiology (AOSR) Executive Council held a meeting facilitated and hosted by the Korean Society of Radiology (KSR) at the 67th Korean Congress of Radiology (KCR2011) in late October 2011. The AOSR Council met for 3 hours on 27th Oct 2011. The next big event of the AOSR will be the 2012 AOCR in Sydney, 29 Aug to 2 Sep 2012 in conjunction with the annual meeting of the RANZCR (Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists)

The permanent AOSR secretariat is currently at the KSR, Seoul to facilitate the running of the AOSR.

This year’s KCR 2011 was outstanding success with at least 70% of the congress being conducted in English. There were 2,629 participants from 26 countries and 59 exhibitors at the Trade Exhibition. The scientific programme consisted of 1 Congress Lecture, 1 Plenary Lecture, 18 Categorical Courses, 4 Refresher Courses, 11 Special Focus Sessions, 1 Image Interpretation Session, 1 CT Colonography Hands-On Workshop, 1 Medical Informatics Course, 40 Scientific Sessions with 445 oral presentations, 1 Radiological Congress of North East Asia Session, 352 Scientific Exhibitions, 5 Luncheon Symposia, 1 Editorial Workshop and 1 Industrial Workshop.

There was a Congress Banquet held at Coex Intercontinental Hotel Grand Ballroom on the 27th Oct 2011 night which began at 6.30pm and ended by 8.30pm. The next night was The Presidential Dinner at Fradia (by the Han River) where the President of the KSR, Dr Dong Ik Kim conferred Honorary Membership to Dr Jianping Dai (China), Dr Antonio Rondo (Italy), Dr Philippe Devred (France) and Dr Michael Forsting (Germany).

Congratulations to the organising committee of the KCR 2011 and their president, Dr Dong Ik Kim for such a smoothly run and highly educational congress.
