Radiology
Malaysia Prize Presentation Day – 25 Nov 2004
The 2004
Radiology Malaysia Online Quiz winners, Creative Design Contest
and Drama & Poetry Challenge winners were presented with their
prizes in Cititel, Mid Valley Megamall on 25 Nov 2004. The Prize
Presentation Day also marked the culmination of all College of
Radiology’s breast cancer awareness programmes for 2004. Ms
Ranjit Kaur, President of Reach to Recovery officiated at the
event.

The 3rd
Southeast Asian Congress of Medical Physics (SEACOMP) and 4th
Asia-Oceania Congress of Medical Physics (AOCMP) –
27-29 Sep
2004
The above
congress’s Opening Ceremony was graced by YA Bhg Tun Dr Siti
Hasmah Bt Hj Mohd Ali. YA Bhg Tun Dr Siti’s keynote address
focused on the role of medical physicists in women’s health –
x-ray mammography, bone density measurement and touched on
advances in genomics and proteomics.

12th
ASEAN Association of Radiology Congress features “Latest Trends
in Imaging” – 16-19 Sep 2004
The College of Radiology, Academy of Medicine of Malaysia
organised the 12th AAR Congress. It is a biennial
meeting and the theme for this Congress was, "Latest
Trends in Imaging". Interesting and latest developments
in CT, MRI and PET scanning were presented.

The Academy of
Medicine of Malaysia Statement on Use of Blood Cancer Markers
and Breast Thermograms for screening cancers – 23 August 2004
Recent health awareness campaigns and promotions with screening
of blood cancer markers as well as indirect promotion of Digital
Infrared Thermal Imaging of the breasts may mislead the public
on the usefulness of such tests. The Academy of Medicine sets
the record straight on these issues.

The Malaysian
Oncological Society Writes on Misleading Report on Food Related
to Cancers and others – 17 August 2004
It is important not to mislead the public with medically
unfounded and sweeping statements. Cancer patients and their
relatives have a lot to cope with, physically and emotionally.
They do not need to be unnecessarily stressed by unsubstantiated
statements.

The
College of Radiology Mammogram Programme is Back! - 2 August
2004
Eligible
women to access low cost, good quality value added mammograms in
August 2004.
The programme, organised by the College of Radiology will run in
Ipoh, Kuantan and Klang Valley. More details on the Mammogram
Programme can be found here.

Of Radiology announces the winners of the Radiology Malaysia
Champ Quiz 2003 - 28 Oct 2003
The Minister of Energy, Communications and Multimedia Dato' Amar
Leo Moggie today witnessed the prize presentation ceremony of
the Radiology Malaysia Champ Quiz 2003. This brings the
College's 2003 Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign to a successful
conclusion.

Radiology launches 2003 Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign –
2 Sep
2003
The
College of Radiology held a Press Launch on the 2 Sep 2003. Ms
Ranjit Kaur, President of Reach to Recovery International
officiated at the event. Topic presentations to complete the
picture for breast cancer awareness were made by Prof Dr Yip
Cheng Har and Dr Mohd Ibrahim Abdul Wahid.

Radiology releases Highlights of the Subsidised Mammogram
Programme (SMP) 2002 at their Annual Dinner

21 June 2003
The College of Radiology announced the results of
the SMP 2002 at a dinner held in conjunction with their Annual
General Meeting. Sponsors, friends and supporters of their
breast health community programmes and e-project (Radiology
Malaysia homepage) were invited to the dinner.
