Breast Health Awareness Starts With You – 8 November 2003

Johnson & Johnson staff gets serious with breast health when some 18 ladies from various departments in Johnson & Johnson “graduated” from a workshop on breast health conducted by Dr Evelyn Ho and assisted by 3 trainers  (Margaret Gooi, Tay Jiat Hua, and Lynn Leong) from the Breast Cancer Welfare Association and Rosa Ho from the J & J Medical division.

J & J has been committed to raising breast cancer awareness since 2001 and it was timely that more staff became involved in the promotion of breast health awareness as well as learn the proper technique of self breast examination. Besides, getting to grips with their own breasts, it is hoped that they will be able to become ambassadors of breast health and be able to guide others on the path to breast health awareness!

Learning how to be breast aware is not as simple as it sounds, yet with the proper guidance and motivation, it can eventually become second nature to the person. Hands on training with teaching breast models, role playing and games to illustrate situations – psychological, cultural and physical helped to ensure that time flew even though it was a 4 hour workshop.
