Johnson & Johnson holds meeting with their community service partners in Kuala Lumpur – 17 November 2003

Dr Anu Gupta, from Johnson & Johnson’s Asia Pacific Corporate Contributions division was in town for a few days to meet up with the Malaysian community service partners. This was the first time the various partners came together and was given a presentation of J & J’s global community service projects.

In Malaysia, J & J works with the College of Radiology, Obstetric and Gynaecological Society, Malaysian Paediatric Association, Malaysian Mental Health Society.

J & J has been an integral partner of the College of Radiology’s Breast Cancer/Health Awareness Programmes. In 2001, they donated substantially and allowed the Subsidised Mammogram Programme to become a phenomenal success. In 2002, the focus was on breast health education and the breast health workshops were launched. J & J has donated teaching breast models and posters for teaching purposes and sponsored breast health educational collaterals for the past 3 years. In 2003, the breast health education thrust continues as tackling breast health and raising breast cancer awareness must use a holistic approach. J & J has also sponsored the printing of the first edition of The Art of Being Breast Aware book written by Dr Evelyn Ho.

Breast Health Workshop kicks off BCAC 2004

The first workshop for trainers will be held on 9th Jan 2004, at Corus Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. Three other public workshops planned for 2004.
