About the ELC BCAC
In 1992, the Estee Lauder Companies Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign was established. Mrs Evelyn Lauder together with the then Self Magazine (US) editor Alexander Penny created the PINK RIBBON which now is the symbol of breast health worldwide. The main objectives of the campaign are to create awareness that early detection saves lives and raise funds to help breast cancer-championing NGOs. By 2010, more than RM2million has been raised for the BCWA, NCSM, CARIF and CoR. Past activities included Charity Golf, Walk for World Pink, Charity Gala Dinners, Look Good Feel Good Workshops, Mall Road Shows and Frances Yip Charity Concert.

The inaugural landmark illumination in Kuala Lumpur was the Pavilion, just after it opened in 2007. In 2008 and 2009, the KL Tower was illuminated and in 2010, the Sultan Abdul Samad Building was added to the list of “pink” landmarks.

In 2011, from July to August 2011 were the Look Good Feel Good Workshops, Pink Carnivale & Fashion Extravaganza@ Pavilion & Mall Road Shows (14-16 Oct 2011) with the Charity Golf on 25 October at KL Golf & Country Club. Sime Darby Healthcare provided complimentary Doctor’s breast check at the Pink Carnivale.
