Kuantan ‘Zumba® Fitness’ Charity for Breast Cancer Awareness Program, Kuantan, Pahang – 19 Nov 2011
By Assoc Prof Dr Azian Abdul Aziz

Two hours just flew by as the 200 participants, including students and groups from various institutions, departments and NGOs in Kuantan, danced their way to fitness. This was the first time such an event was organised in Kuantan and for that matter, also in Pahang. Everyone who attended this event had fun with Zumba. In fact, they were already asking when the next Zumba event would be held! The youngest participant was a 5 year old girl who really grooved to the music and out-did the adults trying their hand at Zumba. The organisers could not be happier with the event being such a success.

The event took place in the Grand Hall, Indera Mahkota Campus of International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM) in Kuantan. Donations received were channeled to the IIUM Breast Centre and the Kuantan Breast Cancer Support Group for future breast cancer awareness campaigns.

The organising committee comprising the IIUM Breast Centre, Zumba Kuantan Enterprise and Kuantan Breast Cancer Support Group was chaired by Assoc Prof Dr Azian Abd Aziz.

Kudos to the organisers for an innovative way to raise breast cancer awareness!
