Charity Fun Walk at Taman Lembah Kiara, Kuala Lumpur –  26 Nov 2006
The Breast Cancer Welfare Association and their dragon boat racing team, the Pink Challengers organised a charity fun walk on the 26 Nov 2006, Sunday at the Taman Lembah Kiara, Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Kuala Lumpur. To add to the fun, there was a lucky draw, food & drinks stall and a charity gift stall.

Pink Challengers, Pink Combo and their supporters taking part in the Pesta Air Putrajaya

Pink Challengers at Pesta Air Putrajaya – 9 July 2006
The Pink Challengers, Pink Combo and their supporters took part in the women’s dragon boat race during the Pesta Air Putrajaya at Kompleks Sukan Air Putrajaya. Other women's teams who participated were the Putrajaya Holdings Lady Vikings team A & B, MMU and Kempas.

 

Hi-Tea for Young Breast Cancer Survivors 9 July 2006
Siew Mei Quin organised a Hi-tea get together at a local hotel where a total of 19 young survivors made new friends and renewed friendship bonds as they enjoyed their tea. All of them were very enthusiastic about keeping in touch, organizing day trips and engaging in interesting social activities. Senior members of the BCWA was also present to forge relations with the younger survivors!

Decoupage For You? 8 July 2006
Datin Azura Bahaman conducted a two-hour session on Decoupage at the BCWA office. 20 members enjoyed their Saturday afternoon, cutting, painting and pasting to transform their jam jars and bottles into works of art.

 

Breast Cancer Survivors Row To Raise Awareness, Penang –  27-28 May 2006
The 27th Penang International Dragon Boat Festival was held in Teluk Bahang Dam, Penang this year. The Breast Cancer Welfare Association sent 2 teams for the Dragon Boat Race.

BCWA Pink Challengers Start Training for the Dragon Boat Race – Feb 2006
Pink Challengers Dragon Boat Team from the BCWA started their weekend training in Putrajaya Lake Club since February to prepare for the 27th Penang International Dragon Boat Festival to be held on 27 - 28 May 2006.
 
BCWA Thimble Thumb Team Goes to Ipoh – 18 Feb 2006
The Thimble Thumb Team went to Ipoh to teach the Persatuan Pink Champion Perak members how to sew the sponge breast prostheses. The BCWA also donated one portable sewing machine to them.

OutRageously PiNk Nite 11 June 2004
The BCWA members were out in full force for OPN in various capacities. It was tiring as the area to cover was large - the Bangsar Baru Business District! Even so ALL had an amazingly great time!  Read all about the run up to the OPN and where some BCWA members became models for the promotional photoshoot!

First National Breast Cancer Support Conference 9-11 Jan 2004
What a successful conference this was, attended by over 200 participants made up of breast cancer survivors, allied healthcare workers (such as doctors and nurses) as well as volunteers.
